As women one thing we all strive to have are perfect eyebrows. Unfortunately for some of us, including myself, we don’t have those dark and full Cara Delvingne eyebrows. Although their are products that help you achieve great eyebrows, a friend introduced me to a more permanent solution. Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing that involves using a blade made up of tiny needles to deposit pigment under your skin. The technique involves tattooing hair like strokes which results in a more natural looking eyebrow. No more filling in your brows, spending money on expensive brow kits or worrying about your eyebrows washing off. This semi-permanent solution will have your brows on fleek for years!

After doing research on this procedure and the results, I was sold on Microblading! I found Glamour Brows Miami  and booked my appointment. I was a little nervous about this procedure being semi-permanent but Stacy, the owner and expert at Glamour Brows, reassured me she would draw in my eyebrows first and wouldn’t start until we both agreed they were perfect. Plus, Stacey had the procedure done and her eyebrows were on fleek, so that eased my worries. Although I do have hair on my brows, you don’t need hair on your brows to do this procedure. Women with no brows, super blond eyebrows or simply just need to fill in the blanks can have this done. They also use the best colors to match your natural hair so your brows turn out looking super natural! See for yourself here!

So here is everything you need to about my Microblading experience

To start, Stacey asked me what I wanted from this experience. I told her I wanted to fill in the light areas so my end results would be full, dark and thick brows. She then begun to measure and outline my eyebrow shape so she could fill in the area within the space once we begun the microblading experience.

Then she prepped her tools and we started the microblading process. Unfortunately, this was a very impromptu appointment, so I didn’t have anyone their to video the process for me. But I did my research on youtube to get an idea of what to expect. You can check out the process here. Once we finished microblading, she covered my brows in ink and let it sit for about 5 minutes.

Then we wiped off the ink and BAMMMMMM natural beautiful brows!!! The process from start to finish took about 1.5 hours and was totally worth it.

You guys have been asking questions about my brows and the Microbalding experience and I’ve got your answers!

How much does it cost? I found Glamour Brows Miami to have the best prices around, see for yourself here. I did some research and found other locations charge anywhere from $500-$1300 for this procedure which seems like too much.

How long is the procedure? The entire procedure for me took about 1.5-2 hours. Give yourself plenty of time so you can make sure your brows turn out exactly how you want.

How many sessions do you need? Most clients take advantage of the the complimentary touch up within 8 weeks after the procedure to perfect any areas that were missed. The success of this procedure ultimately depends on the client and how their skin reacts to the ink. If you have a tattoo, you know how the ink will react to your skin so you’ll have a better idea of how the colors will work on your skin. Depending on how you skin reacts to the ink and how the eyebrow heels you can do another touch up within 2 to 12 months.

Does it hurt? This is not a painless procedure. Microblading is similar to tattooing therefore it does come with a little pain. At Glamour Brows Stacey uses a numbing spray to help minimize the pain. The first go is the most painful but totally bearable, once she applies the numbing spray, you won’t feel a thing. Stacey is very patient and understands everyone’s pain tolerance is different. She encouraged me to take breaks during the session if the pain became unbearable and continued to numb the area to make me comfortable. Another thing to keep in mind is the sound this procedure makes, it’s like pulling Velcro apart. I say this because sometimes the sound of something amplifies the whole experience.

Is it a permanent process? Yes, although like any other tattoos, color may fade over time the overall result is permanent.

How long is the recovery or healing time? Recovery time is usually between 2-3 weeks. You won’t have to worry about hiding out after this procedure. Just following the simple “post op” care instructions and you are good to go!

When will I see the final results? You will see a noticeable difference right away. but the final results will show once the skin is healed in approximately 2-3 weeks

What will they look like immediately after the procedure? The color will be fresh so your eyebrows will be darkest during the first week and will fade to a softer color once healed. You may have redness and your brows may be swollen but that is completely normal with this procedure.

Does it hurt afterwards? I experience some tenderness to the touch the first few days.

Will my Microbladed Eyebrows look fake? No! I mean, do mine look fake?!

Will they fade? Any coloration implanted under the skin will change over time however this process takes years to fade. You can get touch ups as your color fades over time.

How do you like your results? I love my brows! They look so natural and I love not having to worry about putting make up on them anymore.

Here is a before and after shot. Amazing right?!

This picture is about 5 weeks after my brows heeled! Still super natural, full beautiful brows!

Wow – what a difference! It really thickened them up. My only wonder is when fashion trends change — and those pencil thin eyebrows come back into fashion, can you undo it?

Love how natural and full they look! Do you still have to get them shaped up?!

Well, for me, my eyebrows don’t grow back too much. Before Microblading I would get them threaded maybe 3 times a year. With the Microblading my shape and arch stands out so much that it is so easy for me to tweez out the few hairs that pop up every now and again to keep my shape crisp.

I was so curious about this procedure! Your brows look amazing. I just got mine tinted and I am okay right now, but we shall see. Miami is an easy flight for me to come get this done. Hmmm…

    • 01/19/2017 / 3:22 PM

I tried tinting once and it faded rather quick. That’s why I love Microblading, it doesn’t wash off or fade nearly as quick as tinting. I can literally wash my face and go and my eyebrows will remain on fleek!!! Miami is waiting!!!
