Ladies, cooler months are upon us, so it’s time to up your lip care regime to keep that pout fresh and kissable. I was recently shopping around from some new skincare and beauty products and thought I really need a lip scrub to help with the dead skin and dry lips especially during winter time. I hate when I’m wearing lipstick through out day and it builds up on the dead skin. No one likes that! While shopping around I thought a lip scrub can’t be hard to make on your own vs. paying $10-$15 at your local beauty store. So I took to google and found out just how simple and easy it is to make your own lip scrub at home and how it can cost you almost nothing, like it did for me because these are products I have stocked at home already.

So lets get started!

What is in the scrub:

– Organic Honey = Contains natural healing properties (Antiseptic)

– Brown Sugar = Acts as a natural exfoliator

– Organic Coconut Oil = Nourishes and moisturizes lips

What you will need!

– 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil

– 2 tablespoons of brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon of organic honey

– Small glass container with lid  (I found mine at Sally’s Beauty Supply Store)

– Bowl & spoon to mix ingredients

Directions

Step 1: Pour the brown sugar into a bowl. (Tip: Spread the sugar out so you can evenly distribute the rest of the ingredients).

Step 2: Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and honey in the bowl and stir until it’s mixed well. (Tip: Be sure not to use to much honey and oil so it doesn’t start to break down the sugar or become over saturated).

Step 3: Put the mixture into the container. I found this small container set at Sally’s Beauty. I thought it was perfect for those of us who travel often. We can keep a small container with us to maintain that healthy pout.

How to use:

Once a week (twice at the very max) rub the scrub onto your lips, vigorously enough to loosen the dead skin.

Let it sit for 1 minute, and then wipe off with a damp washcloth. Apply lip balm after use.

Store in cool temperature to keep fresh.

I haven’t bought one due to the insane up-charge but I’m definitely going to try making this at home since I have all the ingredients!

Too funny! I would eat this. Or put it in a recipe. Sounds like it would make a great streusel topping!
